"Learn Local" FarmBoat Private Picnic Cruise
Farmboat and Cedar Wave Adventures by Sea have teamed up to offer exciting learning adventures for small groups. Cedarwave operates historic wooden yachts that were built back in the days when most people around here traveled by sea. These private learning adventures will teach you and your group about the amazing local food system and how it emerged. You will also experience the sea up-close and personal as we glide by native waterfowl, sea lions and occasional porpoise.
Farm-Fresh Picnic Cruise
Feast on an assortment of seasonally-fresh fruits and vegetables from local farms. We pack a picnic basket with a variety of local treats. Leisurely ride the waves in style as you image what it was like for early yachting parties out on Puget Sound.
Native Plant Foraging Adventure
Join us for a private foraging expedition on Blake Island and learn about what Native Americans ate. You will be amazed at the range of edible nutritious and delicious specialties growing in local forests. You will be accompanied by a professional foraging guide who can show you what to eat, how to cook it, and of course, what to stay away from.
On this special tour, you will cross the Puget Sound to arrive at an historic steamship stop. From there, you will be transported along old country roads to one of several local farms where you will get a first hand look at where local food grows. Meet the farmer and learn about what makes local foods so special.
Ultimate Couples Luxury Camp-Out
Exotic and rustic--experience raw nature in style. This is the ultimate adventure cruise. Travel on a classic yacht to a nearby deserted island where we will set up a old-fashioned campsite complete with antique lanterns, pot belly stove, and fine furnishings reminiscent of early safari-style expeditions. A personal chef will create masterful meals from local foods.
