Farm Boat Freighter Travel Program

FarmBoat offers a unique adventure travel opportunity on some routes for those seeking a traditional maritime touring experience on Puget Sound and through the San Juan Islands.

Freighter Vacations became popular several decades ago when adventure seekers wanted something more authentic than cruise ship vacations. However, due to security concerns at major ports, many of the freight ship companies ceased offering passenger accommodations. Since we call on small ports and villages, we can still offer this exciting travel alternative.

FarmBoat is planning to offer a unique cruise program somewhat similar to the famed Windjammer Barefoot Cruise Company of the Caribbean. While the waters are cooler here, our casual "barefoot" style cruise will be equally exciting as passengers get to explore the unique destinations of the Pacific Northwest.

Our hostel style bunk and breakfast accommodations will be basic, but the farm-fresh food will be fantastic.

The FarmBoat Floating Market aboard the Virginia V at Lake Union Park is closed due to City of Seattle adverse policies against small businesses. For more information, see "FarmBoat Under Siege."
